House Rules – Please Read Before Booking
We want your stay at Matkandaa to be peaceful and comfortable. Kindly go through the house rules before booking:
🚭 Smoking:
- Smoking inside the house is not allowed.
- You’re welcome to smoke outside — please use the designated ashtrays and dispose of cigarette butts properly.
⚡ Electricity & Backup:
- Occasional power cuts may occur during bad weather or repair work.
- We have a generator backup that runs for 5–6 hours if used wisely.
- Please keep your devices charged during your stay in case of outages.
🔐 Security & Cleanliness:
- Always lock the cottage when stepping out.
- Don’t leave leftover food inside or in the fridge when checking out.
- You may take it with you or place it in a garbage bag outside the main door.
- Clean the kitchen and wash all used dishes before checking out.
- Kindly place all trash on the porch before you leave.
🐶 Pets:
- Pets are welcome, but must be potty trained.
- Please clean up after your dog.
- Pets are not allowed on beds or sofas.
- A cleaning fee of ₹500 applies per pet.
- If pet hair is found on bedding or furniture, a cleaning charge of ₹2,000 will apply.
- To avoid this, you may bring your own bedsheets/quilt covers if your pet sleeps with you.
🎶 Parties & Noise:
- This is a quiet village area — please respect our neighbours.
- You can play music and enjoy your evenings, but keep the volume low, especially at night.
🧼 Cleaning Policy:
- We do not charge a cleaning fee, so we request you to leave the space as you found it.
- If the kitchen is left uncleaned, an extra ₹500 will be charged.
- For stays longer than 3 days, the caretaker will clean the cottage every 3rd day.
- If you’d like the caretaker to clean the kitchen and utensils, he can assist for ₹500, depending on the workload.
🛠 Damage Policy:
- We don’t take any security deposit. Please treat the home like your own.
- In case of any accidental damage, just be honest — we’ll sort it out reasonably and together.
